Bee Hotel - Rustic
These bee hotels are habitat for many of our solitary native bees and wasps (the harmless ones!). You can expect to attract resin bees, leaf cutter bees, masked bees, wasp mimic bees, potter wasps, amongst others.
My bee hotels are all individually hand made at A Green Soul Native Bees HQ and are unique. These rustic bee hotels are 23cm high x 16cm wide x 15 cm deep and contains lots of different materials for our bees, including a Blue Banded Bee mud pipe.
The design is in line with recommended bee hotel construction (and as per taught in my workshops). Holes are 100mm deep and up to 8mm wide. You can check my website to identify the type of bee or wasp you have.
The ideal spot is on a veranda or deck facing out to the garden. Undercover is great and like any timber product will help it last much longer.
Note - some of the frame materials may comprise treated timber eg old fence palings, but the nesting materials are all non-treated, just in case you were worried about it.
